Simple Beauty along Long Island Sound
Designing your next forever home might seem like a challenge, but for these homeowners who downsized from a large family home, all we see is quiet sophistication. The home offers versatility – from intimate areas for the homeowners to enjoy on their own to easy convertible indoor/outdoor spaces that can accommodate larger gatherings; it’s the best of both worlds.
Interior Highlights:
Upon entering the home, it’s hard to miss the clean modern aesthetic: whites, greys and floor to ceiling windows. Paired with natural elements, the interior exudes warmth from hewn beams and wide plank floors to the bar’s visible wood grain and knots with a Caesarstone Rugged Concrete counter and backsplash.
Caesarstone countertops were installed throughout. The kitchen combined Pure White along the perimeter with Sleek Concrete for the island, providing contrast while designating the island as a gathering space. The bathroom vanities continued the color palette utilizing Pure White, Sleek Concrete and Fresh Concrete for the countertops.
Exterior Highlights:
Part of the beauty of this home is how well it integrates into the surrounding landscape, promoting a balanced unobtrusive scene from both land and water. The weathered fieldstone veneer in a variety of sized rounds ties the home back to the natural elements of the waterfront’s retaining wall. The outdoor fireplace is a perfect example of this home’s connection back to the environment.
Bluestone, a New England classic, provides the foundation of all the outdoor living spaces – from the dining room on one side to the pool and lounge on the other. The pool and spa feature bluestone coping and Liberty Hill sawn stone veneer. Grandiose 6” thermal bluestone steps complete the picturesque views from both the living room’s full-length windows and the patio stretching the length of the house.
